How do I add information on packaging, storage conditions and preparation instructions for the PS Impact Score?
The PS Impact Score doesn't only look at ingredients. Packaging, how a product is stored and how it is prepared also count. If you don't fill in these fields, HowGood calculates with averages, which makes your score less accurate.
Which fields count?
- Packaging: packaging type, packaging material, % recycled material and weight of the packaging material
- Net weight of the product
- Storage condition, such as chilled, frozen or ambient
- Preparation (method of preparation)
- Quality marks
- Country of origin of the product
How to complete the information
- Open the product in Data Entry.
- Go to Logistic > Packaging material and enter the material and weight for each packaging component. Read more about adding packaging.

- Go to Logistic > Storagecondition and enter the storage conditions.

- Go to Specification > Preparation and enter the method of preparation.

- Check that the quality marks are correct and still valid.
Tips
- Enter each packaging component separately. If the packaging consists of a box and film, enter them as two materials, each with its own weight.
- Link a quality mark only to the ingredient it applies to. Check whether the label covers the entire ingredient.
- Not every quality mark counts. Organic (EU), Demeter, Beter Leven, MSC, ASC, Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance, RSPO and UTZ are included in the calculation. Other labels, often Dutch ones, are not yet included, so they don’t affect your score (yet).
This information doesn't just make your score more accurate. It also makes your product information more complete for your customers.
